Procreate - January 2021
I created swatches of different hues on my canvas, then changed my iPad settings to greyscale. For the entire portrait, I drew only in greyscale based on the values of the swatches I had gathered before. When I was done, I turned the greyscale off and saw the reveal in color.

I love how this project turned out, working with just the values taught me a lot about color theory and how colors work together.
Collage on canvas - Spring 2021
This was created by collaging texts and patterns onto a canvas, and then painting over it. There is also tulle added on the top portion of her dress for some added texture.
Scratch-off Paper - Spring 2019
This piece challenged me, as the image was revealed as I scratched off the black finish, and the white base was left underneath. I had to work in reverse order than I was used to with graphite images, as the shadow areas needed a lighter hand, and the highlight areas needed a heavier hand.
Oil Pastel - Fall 2018
I really enjoyed the process for this one, I hadn't worked extensively with oil pastels before this, so blending them and creating heavily saturated areas was fun to experiment with.
